Central District (Maku County)

The Central District of Maku County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان ماکو) is in West Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Maku.[3]

At the National Census in 2006, its population was 84,516 in 19,238 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 70,133 people in 18,427 households,[5] by which time Chaybasar-e Shomali Rural District and the city of Bazargan had been separated from the district in the establishment of Bazargan District.[6] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 75,075 inhabitants in 21,490 households.[2]
