Himnusz
Hungarian anthem / From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Himnusz" (say: HIM-nooss, meaning "Hymn" or "Anthem") is the national anthem of Hungary. In 1844, many Hungarians considered this song as their national anthem, along with "Szózat". In 1989, the Hungarian government officially made it their country's national anthem. The words of the song were written by Ferenc Kölcsey in 1823, and the melody was composed by Ferenc Erkel in 1844.[1][2][3]
