Washington Allon Bartlett (c. 1816 – February 6, 1865)[1] was the first U.S. citizen to serve as alcalde of Yerba Buena/San Francisco, appointed by the military government during the Mexican-American War and serving from August 14, 1846, to January 31, 1847.
