Višnja Gora (pronounced [ˈʋiːʃnja ˈɡɔːɾa] ⓘ; German: Weixelburg,[1] also Weichselburg, Weichselberg) is a town in the Municipality of Ivančna Gorica in central Slovenia. It is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.[2] It includes the hamlets of Žabjek, Na Štacjonu, and Grintavec,[3] as well as the former hamlet of Suhi Malen (German: Weixelbach).[1][4]
