It holds 14,650 people, which makes it the third-largest stadium by capacity in Calabria. It is currently the home of US Catanzaro 1929.[citation needed]
In 1989 the stadium was renamed in honour of Nicola Ceravolo [it], who had died the previous year and was an influential former president of US Catanzaro for twenty years.[2]
