Sidney Psalms
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Sidney or Sidneian Psalms are a 16th-century paraphrase of the Psalms in English verse, the work of Philip and Mary Sidney, aristocratic siblings who were influential Elizabethan poets. Mary Sidney completed them some time after the death of her brother in 1586 and presented a copy to Queen Elizabeth I of England in 1599. The translation was praised in the work of John Donne.[1][2]
