Shirvan (Persian: شيروان)[lower-alpha 1] is a city in the Central District of Shirvan County, North Khorasan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4] The city has been significant industrially with sugar beet factories.[5] It is also significant historically (Nader hill), geographically (Honameh), and anthropologically (caves around the city).[6]
