Selenginsk (Russian: Селенги́нск; Buryat: Сэлэнгын, Selengyn, Mongolian: Сэлэнгэ, Selenge) is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) in Kabansky District of the Republic of Buryatia, Russia, located at the head of the Selenga River delta about 30 kilometers (19 mi) from Lake Baikal and about 50 kilometers (31 mi) northwest of Ulan-Ude, the capital of the republic. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 14,546.[2]
