Richard Henry Geoghegan (/ˈɡeɪɡən/ GAY-gən;[1] 8 January 1866 – 27 October 1943) was an Anglo-American philologist and the first known Esperantist from the English-speaking world.[2] As a young man, he emigrated to the United States, first living in Washington state and then in the Alaska Territory.[3]
