Pechora (Russian: Печо́ра; Komi: Печӧра, romanized: Pećöra) is a town in the Komi Republic, Russia, located on the Pechora River, west of and near the northern Ural Mountains. The area of the town is 28.9 square kilometres (11.2 sq mi).[2] Population: 43,105 (2010 Russian census);[3] 48,700 (2002 Census);[8] 64,746 (1989 Soviet census).[9]
