Moe Aung (Burmese: မိုးအောင်; pronounced [mò áuɴ]) is a Burmese naval officer who serves as the current Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Navy, holding the rank of admiral.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] Following the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état, Moe Aung was appointed as the commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Navy, succeeding Admiral Tin Aung San, who became a member of the State Administration Council (SAC), the military junta.[9][10][11][12][13][14][15] In January 2024, he was also appointed as National Security Advisor on the State Administration Council, while his chief of staff, Zwe Win Myint, assumed the role of commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Navy.[16][17][18][19][20][21][22]
