Mikhail Khergiani

Mikhail Vissarionovich Khergiani (Georgian: მიხეილ ხერგიანი, Russian: Михаил Виссарионович Хергиани, born Chumlian Minan Khergiani, 20 March 1932 – 4 July 1969) was a Georgian mountaineer. He was a seven-time national champion climber who earned the nickname the "Tiger of the Cliffs"[lower-alpha 1] for his ability to rapidly attack difficult routes.[1][2][3] He was named an Honoured Master of Sport of the USSR in 1963 for his achievements.[4]
