Laksky District (Russian: Ла́кский райо́н; Lak: Лакрал кӏану) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the forty-one in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. It is located in the southern central part of the republic. The area of the district is 750 square kilometers (290 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Kumukh.[1] As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 12,161, with the population of Kumukh accounting for 15.9% of that number.[3]
