John deKoven Alsop (July 4, 1915 – April 6, 2000) was an American soldier, insurance executive, and politician who served in the Connecticut State House of Representatives and was an unsuccessful candidate for the governor of Connecticut in 1958 and 1962,[1] and was known as "one of Connecticut's most influential and colorful Republicans."[2]
