Jamote People

The Jamote or Jamot people (Sindhi: ڄاموٽ) are a Sindhi ethnic community and a tribe of Sindhi Sammat people of Sindh and Balochistan.[1] They are natives of Kachhi plain and Kalat regions of Balochistan and in Sindh they are long settled in Larkana and Shikarpur districts of Sindh.[2] Jamote and Lasi together form the 4.56% of the total population of Sindhi people in Balochistan province as of 2017.[3] As of 2011[update], the chief of the Jamotes was Syed Mohammed Ali Shah Jamote.[4]
The terms Jamote and Jadgal are used for Sindhi (muslims only) people in Balochistan.
