English: Title: American privateer "General Armstrong" Capt. Sam. C. Reid / lith. & pub. by N. Currier. In the harbor of Fayol (Azores) Oct. 26th, 1814. Repulsing the attack of 14 boats containing 400 men from the British ships Plantagenet 74' - Rota 44, and Carnation 18 guns. The General Armstrong was 246 tons burthen Carried 6 nine pounders and a long Tom (42 pounder,) amid ships and a crew of 90 men. The British loss was 120 killed and 130 wounded - Americans lost 2 killed and 7 wounded. |
