Basem Al-Shayeb, is the founder of Amber Bio, which aims to develop multi-kilobase RNA editing therapies and has raised $26 million in funding. [1][2][3][4] He is a researcher at the Innovative Genomics Institute.[5] He led the discovery of the largest known bacteriophages,[6][7][8][9] the smallest CRISPR gene editing systems,[10][11][12][13] and Borgs in methane-oxidizing archaea.[14][15][16][17][18] He was named Forbes 30 Under 30 and Arab America's 30 Under 30.
