Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azercosmos) (Azerbaijani: Azərkosmos Açıq Səhmdar Cəmiyyəti (Azərkosmos ASC)) is a public legal entity under Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan and successor of Azercosmos Open Joint Stock Company,[2] the first satellite operator in the Caucasus region entirely owned by the Government of Azerbaijan.[3] With the telecommunication satellite Azerspace-1, the company provides broadband and broadcast services to customers in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.[4] With the Earth Observation satellite Azersky, Azercosmos provides satellite imagery and geoinformation services.[5] Since 2021 the Chairman of the Broad of Azercosmos is Samaddin Asadov.[6][7]
