Previously a youth player with Everton, he went on loan spells to several EFL Championship clubs until signing with Premier League club Fulham in 2020 for £2 million.[6] Following relegation after his first season, he won the 2021–22 EFL Championship and was included on the 2021–22 Team of the Season.[7] He won the 2023–24 Fulham Player of the Season award, and was considered one of the Premier League's best left-backs of the season.[8][9]
Born in England, he represents the United States national team and won the CONCACAF Nations League in 2021, 2023, and 2024.[10]
