Napoli secured a third Serie A title with five matches to spare, marking a first top league title since the 1989–90 season.[1] The club also reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in history.
The season was the first since 2009–10 without Lorenzo Insigne, who departed to Toronto FC, and the first since 2012–13 without Dries Mertens, who departed to Galatasaray.
