SV Elversberg and VfL Osnabrück were promoted to the 2. Bundesliga,[4][5] while SpVgg Bayreuth, FSV Zwickau, SV Meppen and VfB Oldenburg got relegated to the Regionalliga.[6][7] Wehen Wiesbaden were also promoted after winning the 2. Bundesliga relegation play-offs.
