This user only ever talks about himself in the third person when he is doing a Clan of the Cave Bear roleplay. Otherwise, I think it's a little weird. |
My Table of Contents is very long so I decided to fill up the extra space with userboxes describing my heated opinions on various topics. |

I believe that the only possible effect of political userboxes is to divide users, and they should thus be speedied. On the other hand, people do seem to enjoy them, and who am I to ruin their fun? If you can't beat em, join em! So I guess I'll explain some of my political beliefs. |

I am not a supporter of the gay community, but I support equal rights for all sexual orientations including marriage. |
I am atheistic and I like James Randi, and I used to read his column every week, but these days I think he is an old fart with regard to religion, and I believe that skeptics in general think too highly of themselves. |

I guess these are traits I get from my dad. He brought me up all wrong; all the advice he gave me was exactly the opposite of what I needed to do. But it takes your whole life to understand yourself. |
How was that? Do you feel like you know me a little better now? Are you a little annoyed that I don't support your opinion fully? |

What exactly is the point of these "us and them" divisions, anyway? You might say that you're more likely to become friends with someone you share interests or opinions with. Sure, it's a great starting point. But is that the reason for friendship? How will you learn to accept that some people have different opinions from you if you surround yourself with people who agree with you about everything you find important, and ally with them against the "enemy"? |
WHO |
Userboxes may seem sort of cheap compared to writing an actual biography, but they acknowledge a deep flaw of human nature, that the whole of our personality is a bunch of labels. If you mix and match enough, and fill in all the details of your life, I'm sure you can find a unique set of labels which describe only you and nobody else on the planet. |
But who are you? Your interests, your hobbies, these are just things that you apply to yourself. They aren't really who you are, and nobody can get a full impression of you just by putting all of them together. Your age? That's a label, and soon it will change. Your skin color, nationality, job? These are all labels too. Strip away the labels. |
