MS Arvia is an excellence class cruise ship in service for P&O Cruises [1], a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc. Built by German shipbuilder Meyer Werft in Papenburg, she was delivered in the 9th of December 2022 to P&O Cruises.[2] At about 185,000 GT[3], Arvia is the largest ship to be commissioned for the British cruise market as of yet. Arvia was floated out on the 27th of August 2022[4]. Arvia's normal operating capacity is 5200 passengers even though it's maximum capacity if 3rd and 4th berths are used is 6264 passengers.[1] [5] Arvia was supposed to have her maiden voyage on the 9th of December 2022 but due to operational reasons, this was delayed to the 23rd of December 2022.[6] It's maiden voyage was a 14 night Canary Island cruise from Southampton.[6] On the 2nd of March 2023, P&O cruises announced that Arvia's godmother will be Nicole Scherzinger.[7]
