Wikipedia Visiting Scholar Northeastern University Women Writers Project
"Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does." -William James
About me
I am the Wikipedia Visiting Scholar at Northeastern University's Women Writers Project. You can find more information about this position on the announcement page. I don't attend Northeastern University, I am not on staff, and I am not paid for my work as a Visiting Scholar. I work remotely, and periodically update NU on my progress. I edit with the username of Rosiestep. See also: here and here.
My work
Notable women writers and their works are missing from Wikipedia as well as the English literature canon. The focus of my NU Visiting Scholar position, supported by scholars in the Women Writers Project as well as reference librarians, is to create and improve Wikipedia articles on women and writing before 1900. Topics could include early women’s writing, women and the book trade, women and education, women as readers, women writers, their works, and so forth.
