The Loop is unique as being the only UK organization which provides free drug safety testing, harm reduction and welfare services at festivals, nightclubs, and other events.
Employing such techniques such fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy they can give immediate analysis of substances provided by event attendees. Whilst the small samples given over can not be returned for legal reasons, the analysis can identify substances that have been falsely sold and will pose considerable harm to those intending to take them. This reduces the chances of the the consumer becoming a medical emergency and possibly resulting in death.
The service also provides a quick and neutral consultation for event attendees who may want advice.
It has the support of the Royal Society for Public Health Let festival-goers and clubbers test their drugs to reduce harm
