This article was flagged for copyright investigation against this source on 12 August 2014. Investigation suggests that the material was published on Wikipedia prior to its placement on that external site. The content entered Wikipedia in its original form in January 2008. We can see the natural evolution of that content beginning soon after. In March 2005, the sentence "In the 1920s, London Road was built to capicitate with the influx of holiday makers" was altered to read "In the 1920s, London Road was built to cope with the influx of holidaymakers" - the external site follows the later text. In April 2006, the phrase "and was originally called Claccingaton, which means The Village of Clacc's People" was expanded to "The name Clacton dates from c. 500 when the area was settled by Saxons under their chief Clacc. The original name, Claccingaton, means the village of Clacc's people." The external site includes the newer language. Other changes added in that edit are also included. Signs of natural evolution in the article continue from that point. Evidence suggests that the website at some point copied the content from Wikipedia. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:44, 27 August 2014 (UTC) |
