Peter Wallace Rodino Jr. (June 7, 1909 – May 7, 2005) was an American politician who was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1949 to 1989. A liberal Democrat, he represented parts of Newark, New Jersey and surrounding Essex and Hudson.[lower-alpha 1] He was the longest-serving member of the House of Representatives from New Jersey until passed by Chris Smith in 2021.
