Michael Tarrence Penix Jr. (PENN-iks /ˈpɛnɪks/; born May 8, 2000) is an American football quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Indiana Hoosiers and Washington Huskies, winning the 2023 Maxwell Award and leading the latter to an appearance in the 2024 national championship game. Penix was selected by the Falcons eighth overall in the 2024 NFL draft.
