Nahr-e Jadid (Persian: نهرجديد)[lower-alpha 1] is a village in, and the capital of, Abshar Rural District of the Central District of Shadegan County, Khuzestan province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,124 in 204 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,615 people in 380 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,435 people in 330 households.[2]
