Inácio Luís Madeira de Melo

Inácio Luís Madeira de Melo (2 January 1775 – 1833), better known as Madeira de Melo, was a Portuguese military officer. He served in the office of governador das armas, and led Portuguese troops based in Salvador, Bahia, in fighting the Brazilian War of Independence in that province until he left the city on 2 July 1823, when the troops retreated to Portugal.
