English: Town Hall of Victoria, Tarlac[1] is a second class municipality in the province of Tarlac, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 59,987 people. The municipality is located in the Province of Tarlac, geographically located in the central part of Luzon. It lies between 1”42’ north latitude and 120º35’ and 120”45 east longitude. It is bounded by Tarlac City, municipalities of Pura Gerona, La Paz and to the east by the Province of Nueva Ecija. The biggest was in Namitinan (now in Sitio in Brgy. Canarem) which was of Ilocano settlers who decided to live close to Canarum Lake. The Kapampangan had gone as far as Baculong and Maluid. Like the Ilocano, they too were in search of land to till. There was one other community in Palacpalac. The barrio was named after a tree which sap is utilized to make houses shiny. On March 28, 1855, Superior Governor General Miguel Crespo created the town of Victoria by virtue of a Superior Decree. There was no Poblacion to speak of then. Read more:[6] |
