(May 13, 2009) Ship restorers Chris Hanlon, bottom, and Paul Chiasson line up a new plank of white oak along USS Constitution's starboard side at the Naval History and Heritage Command Detachment. Restoration to Old Ironsides's hull, masts and main deck are part of a $7 million overhaul scheduled for completion by 2011. Constitution is at 211 years old ‚Äö is the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world. It is manned by more than 70 active duty U.S. Navy Sailors, and visited by nearly half a million tourists annually.
