English: Persian Gulf (Feb. 27, 2003) -- Machinery Repairman 3rd Class Robert Marcote from Columbia, S.C., uses a metal lathe aboard the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) to create a Crutch Ball for an SH-60F “Sea Hawk” helicopter. The Crutch Ball aids in the aircraft's rotor blade stability. Lincoln and Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW 14) are conducting operations in support of Operation Southern Watch.
