This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: Cropped; modified the white balance/brightness to make the paper and areas tinted white to appear as white (an artistic decision to compensate for its yellowing/off-white base), while trying to retain the contrast and softness of the lithographic form. The base .tiff image was too large to upload to the Commons. Modifications made by Morgan Riley. The original can be found here: https://www.loc.gov/pictures/resource/pga.04044/.
