En route to becoming the first steam vessel to circumnavigate the globe, the wooden paddle sloop HMS DRIVER, 1058 tons, passes through Sydney's Heads to enter Port Jackson. Her circumnavigation was completed on 14 May 1847 on her return to Portsmouth. |
