Français : Statue de Jean Tauler dans une niche de la façade sud de l'église Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune protestant (Strasbourg). À la place des statues détruites pendant la Révolution, dans une niche vide, en 1898, le sculpteur en chef de l'Oeuvre Notre-Dame, Ferdinand Riedel (1863-1912), durant la période allemande de l'Alsace, a placé cette statue directement inspirée de la pierre tombale de Jean Tauler conservée dans l'actuelle Temple Neuf, lieu de culte bâti sur les ruines de l'ex couvent des Dominicains, reconverti en bibliothèque municipale à la Révolution Française, bombardé et détruit par le feu avec ses précieux manuscrits le 26 août 1870. la pierre tombale de Jean Tauler est l'un des rares vestiges avec quelques vitraux ayant traversé ce désastre. ) |
