OBJECT NUMBER: 1925.9 ARTIST/MAKER:Richard Morell Staigg DEPICTED:Philip Schuyler DATE: 1865 MEDIUM: Oil on canvas DIMENSIONS: Overall: 54 x 40 in. ( 137.2 x 101.6 cm ) GALLERY LABEL: The subject was the only son of George Lee Schuyler and Eliza (Hamilton) Schuyler and brother of the two donors. He was a graduate of Lawrence Scientific School of Harvard and the University of Berlin. He served in the Union Army during the Civil War, attaining the rank of brigadier general, and he was a member of the Seventh Regiment, New York National Guard.
