Summary
DescriptionMédailles liquidateurs.jpg |
Since the 90s, in Ukranian, Russian, and Belarusian markets, one has been able to find these kinds of medals sold by the widows of liquidators or their children. Numerous liquidators have died within 10 to 20 years after the catastrophe. A large bronze commemorative medal was also produced, featuring a pregnant woman on one side, and a Chernobyl clock on the other. In this photo, the medal on the left shows an effigy of Lenin with a central "lenin" in bas relief. This is the less common of the two, reserved for the first liquidators or members of the communist party. Photography: F Lamiot and A Villain |
