Deutsch: Ostansicht des Stiftes Göttweig in der niederösterreichischen Marktgemeinde Furth bei Göttweig.
Das Stift wurde von Altmann von Passau 1084 als Chorherrenstift gegründet und 1094 unter Bischof Ulrich I. von Passau den Benediktinern übergeben. Nach dem Großbrand vom 17. Juni 1718 wurde unter Abt Gottfried Bessel (1714–1749) das Stift nach Plänen von Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt neu errichtet, jedoch vorzeitig eingestellt und daher sind nur rd. zwei Drittel der ursprünglichen Planung realisiert worden: [1].
