English: Blast door for radioprotection. The metro station Pankstraße was designed to be used as a public fallout shelter. Both entrances to the entresol can be sealed with one of these concrete sliding panels. The only way into the shelter would lead through the airlock which is marked by the red arrow. Deutsch: Druckwellen- und Strahlenschutztor der bis 2006 vorgehaltenen öffentlichen Zivilschutzanlage. Im Ernstfall wären beide Personenzugänge im Verteilergeschoss des U-Bahnhofs gas- und druckdicht mit einem solchen Schiebetor verschlossen worden. Der Pfeil weist auf den Eingang zur Gasschleuse, durch die man die Anlage dann hätte betreten müssen. Ihr Eingang und das Strahlenschutztor sind unauffällig hinter Wand- und Deckenverkleidungen vor den Blicken der täglich hunderten Passanten verborgen. |
