The club is a member of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina and has been mostly active in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The club had a two-year stint of playing in the First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina after it got relegated to it in the 2011–12 Premier League season.
Sloboda got promoted back up to the Premier League in the 2013–14 First League of FBiH season. At the end of the 2022–23 Premier League season, the club got relegated to the First League of FBiH, but was promoted in the 2023–24 First League of FBiH season.
