The Companion is the main character of the long-running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who. Since the show's second inception in 2004, the character has been portrayed by eleven lead actors. The companion refers to a character who travels or shares adventures with the Doctor. Portrayed by Billie Piper (Rose Tyler), Freema Agyeman (Martha Jones), Catherine Tate (Donna Noble), Karen Gillan (Amy Pond), Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald), Pearl Mackie (Bill Potts).
