Dasu or Dassu (Abasin Kohistani and Urdu: داسو:) is the district headquarters of the Upper Kohistan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It had fifteen union councils before the Kandia Valley was separated. Since it is being named as tehsil, the Dasu subdivision has eleven union councils. According to the 1998 census, the total population of Dasu was 137,519, in 21,487 households.[citation needed]
